Trust- super moon over winnebago IMG_3267b

Rising super moon over Winnebago ( August 2015)

Trust

Trust is a bright light

That shines in the dark

To find what was lost

And guide towards the mark.

When in my own hurry

I stumble and fall

Driven on by some worry

To get through it all.

My plans tossed and battered

Like an anchor-less ship

My thoughts harried, scattered,

The scale starts to tip.

To make all the difference

A moment is taken

in prayer and obedience

Aware, I am shaken

That out of the darkness

A light shines ahead

To guide each shy footstep

And cast away dread.

No longer ‘my own’ plans

Accomplish I must

Your way is not mine

In God will I Trust.

‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight.’  Proverbs 3 verse. 5-6

‘Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.’  Proverbs 16 verse 3

from the Holy Bible, New International Version

Practice makes perfect

How many times do I rush into my day  only to find that I feel like a hamster on a wheel, spinning endlessly, not accomplishing much of value?  To top it off, I don’t get anywhere!  So here’s the thing.  If I take the time every morning to read my Bible and pray, lo and behold the day pans out differently.  I am no longer dashing to and fro trying to get things done, but when I entrust my time and my schedule or whatever might be ahead to the Lord, it works out for the very best.  Even when unexpected things happen.  Or I should say especially when unexpected things happen, I am not ruffled because my time and my trust are in God’s very capable hands.

Think Straight, Path Straight

There are times when I get bent out of shape.  Let’s be honest, I can get frustrated and aggravated with the best of them.  But the key we need to remember here is to stop the exacerbation rumination. It’s obvious, that it just leads to bent and twisted thinking. After I recognize my mistake, I can lay it out before the Lord in prayer. So when I get my thoughts straight, it will help me walk on that straight path of His.

Where do you put your trust?
